Amplify Credit Union Presents "Amplify's Austin Band Showcase"
A chance for local musicians to reach new audiences, gain new fans, and win a fully-produced 2-song EP including tracking, mixing and mastering from Hideout Studios.

Sixteen groups or artists will be selected at random to audition for a select group of judges Saturday, October 11th at our Brockton location. Auditions start at 9:30 am - you'll perform your best song (5 minutes maximum). Performances will be videotaped and posted for our members and the public at large to vote on.

Six finalists will be chosen to perform in our branches on a Saturday to be determined between November 1, 2008 and January 30, 2009. You'll perform two 45-minute sets - and make $100 too!

The winner gets a fully-produced 2-song EP from Hideout Studios - where audiophile precision meets old school soul . . . the perfect place to make a record.

AWAKEN by Hipnautica

This thematic 1.5 hour performance will feature a diverse collection of new and classic Dark World Electronic, Neo Tribal and Electro Industrial influences while telling abstract stories through performance art and dance backed by mezmerizing video projections. AWAKEN will present neo-tribal belly dancers, performance artists, staging and costumes designed specifically for this event. Doors will open at 9:pm as Team Skeme DJ/ subSpace Freakquency deliver intoxicating dance and ambient tracks from the DJ booth while Hipnautica prepares to unleash this dynamic new performance that will Awaken your senses.

The Austin Record Convention is the largest sale of recorded music in the USA. There is more music and related memorabilia available here, at one time, than anywhere else. Ranging from the 78's of the 1930s to the latest compact discs of today, over one million 78s, 45s, LPs, CDs, cassettes, posters and collectibles (probably even a few 8-track tapes!) are in the auditorium. Over 300 different dealers from all over the USA and Europe are spread out over 50,000 square feet of floor space.
