::: Austin Music: You're Invited ::: The crisis facing Austin's musicians and music industry has a long road to its solution. The first major step of this solution is to infuse activity, attention, and capital into Austin's live music industry. Musicians can't organize because they're struggling so hard, venue owners don't have time because even the successful ones are working hard to keep their doors open, and music business infrastructure has all but disappeared from our city. So how do we create investment into an industry in trouble? By showcasing what's positive about our music scene and creating an atmosphere of community and responsibility. All of Austin can share in the reconstruction of our music industry and we can all share in its success. So Save Austin Music proudly presents "Austin Music: You're Invited", a Public Service Announcement Campaign that showcases Austin Music Icons urging every Austinite to "See One Austin Band This Month". It will be placed in every media outlet in Central Texas and on the internet as well. To increase the campaign's effectiveness and its scope, we are raising funds to buy advertising in addition to the free placement we will recieve in the local media. We secured the following Austin Icons to appear in the PSAs:

PRODUCTION
Our mission is important enough that Lee Daniel (long-time Austinite, director of photography on over 100 music videos and right-hand-man to RIchard Linklater on films ranging from Slackers & Dazed & Confused to Fast Food Nation) offered his services to create this important message to all Austinites. We were joined immediately by co-producer Jeff Kehoe (formerly of Austin City Limits) and filmmaker Scott Conn (Dirt Road To Psychedelia) as lighting director. The crew also featured major contributions from the film community. Film whiz Michael Morlan donated time and equipment, GEAR Rental donated equipment, and the Wolfpack Film Group donated equipment and volunteers. Makeup artist Teri Ewton also donated a week of services to the shoot. Still photographers Brad Chapin & Mike Pugliese recorded the event and shot the print ads for the campaign. Post production and editing is being done by Blitzkrieg Media. Volunteers were: Lee Daniel, Scott Conn, Michael Morlan, Jeff Kehoe, Robin Blesch, Christine Thompson, Brad Chapin, Mike Pugliese, Robert McGreevy, Sean McCormick, Brandon Thomas, Travis Gardner, Christopher Sesta, Mark Willenborg, Brian Ligon, and more. We want to thank Antone's, Continental Club, Saxon Pub, Bismeaux Studio, and South Austin Speed Shop for allowing us to shoot there. Several Austin eateries donated meals to our hard working crew as well. Please support the following restaurants because they support Austin music. Our thanks go out to Threadgill's, Torchy's Tacos, Dog Alighty Hot Dogs, and Opal Divine's
